Born Krystal Motoguchi, on the 25th of April 1989 in Shinuba prefecture Tokyo , Kiki grew up as an average Japanese school girl in Tokyo, with a small family of 3. At the age of 8 she had a pet lobster named Edwardo, whom she one day accidentally boiled while giving him a bath, many fans hypothesise that all her songs are about her grief on losing her beloved pet lobster.
Kiki La Grunge legally changed her name at the age of 16, just before she released her first international smash: Revenge No Ebi (Lobster Of Revenge). She had already been topping the Japanese charts in for months, with great songs such as Ebi Ga Suki (I Like Lobster) and Ebi Wa Neohappy (The Lobster Is Neo-Happy), However Revenge No Ebi is the song people know her most for.
After her first hit she then went on tour with her first album: Tsubasa No Ebi (Lobster Wings) she toured through the US, the extending her fan base even further.
Now at the age of 17 she's leading the American pop charts, starring in her own movie and has recently announced her own line of pet lobster tanks She is doing things her own way once again, releasing an EP, Kaze No Ebi (Lobster Wind) as a follow up to her previous full length album, Tsubasa No Ebi.
