Biography

Riot Gear! have wowed audiences the world over with thier unique folk-metal sound. Oringinally hailing from Perth in Western Australia, the band now resides in their studio home in LA. Pete, Ed and Johnny, 3 of the 4 band members, started making music together in primary schoool. The fourth member of the band Heinrich Jacobson joined the trio in the early years of high school.

Early influences on the band were groups studied in primary school music classess. This included classical artits as well as many "bush" poets playing a part in rooting the band in a folk music genre. Heinrich Jacobson's introduction into the band brought the European thrash metal influence. Heinrich's influence of metal music on his guitar playing can be attributed to his older brother and his obsession over this style. His brother played it constantly in his house when growing up. It was in their Western Australian home that it was passed on to Heinrich.

Riot Gear!'s unique infusion of genres led to the band's record deal with Phake records and the success on their first album Formalware. Now hot off the heals of a full scale world tour the band has recorded a second album, Watchout, set for release on June 20 with another world tour set for early 2007.
